WindSat data set has gaps in January and February

We are having trouble obtaining data from our source. We therefore have titled the WindSat data files as .rt for Jan 12, 2012, to present. We are working on fixing the problem and when the back data are processed, all WindSat data in Jan will become .V7 final files. If you have questions, please contact support.

New WindSat Geophysical Products – Released November, 2011

This is Remote Sensing System’s second public release of WindSat data. We have used the Version-7 (V7) algorithm to produce these geophysical products. Please use this preliminary version and provide feedback to

Products include Sea Surface Temperature (SST); a variety of Surface Wind Speeds and Directions; Atmospheric Water Vapor; Cloud Liquid Water; and Rain Rate. See the Description section for further details.

WindSat is the first radiometer to measure wind direction. The use of a new all-weather algorithm in this data processing is the only WindSat dataset providing winds in rain. Both these achievements are important advancements in satellite radiometry. See the description and publications mentioned within for more detailed information.
